PARAGON CT122822: Wide, Welcoming, and Ready for the Studio

Built on the Ceramic Top legacy

The PARAGON CT Series—short for Ceramic Top—delivers professional-grade performance with durability and thoughtful engineering built into every model. These round kilns are trusted by ceramic artists, educators, and studios alike for their consistency and longevity. Every CT model includes:

  • 3” thick firebrick throughout for superior insulation

  • Solid state relay (SSR) for quieter, more efficient, and longer-lasting performance

  • AOP (Auxiliary Outlet Plug) and vent-ready design (pre-drilled for kiln vent installation)

  • Dropped, recessed element grooves—no pins required

  • Full-formed galvanized steel base that strengthens and protects the firing chamber

  • Dust-resistant coating on lid, peepholes, and rim to extend component life

Why choose the PARAGON CT122822?

The PARAGON CT122822 is a round, 12-sided kiln with an interior diameter of 28” and a height of 22”, offering a spacious 8.11 cubic feet of firing space.

Despite its generous width, this model is easier to load than deeper kilns—making it a favorite among studios that value both capacity and accessibility. Whether you’re firing large platters or full loads of low-fire ware, porcelain, or stoneware, this kiln delivers volume and versatility in equal measure.

The massive, 12-sided PARAGON CT122822 kiln is a profit center of the busy ceramic studio. It eats up stacks of low-fire ware as well as porcelain and stoneware. It is rated to a full cone 10. At a cost per cubic foot, this kiln is one of the most economically priced standard kilns we make.

Durability meets convenience

The CT122822 features sectional construction, allowing you to separate the rings and base for easy brick repair, element replacement, or transport through narrow spaces. The top row of grooveless 2” blank bricks helps prevent wear during loading.

The kiln’s drop-down switch box, hinged at the bottom with a fold-out support arm, makes maintenance simple. The massive 3” lid lifts with ease thanks to Paragon’s patented LiteLid spring system, reducing physical strain while extending the life of the lid and firebrick rim. The reversible firebrick bottom ensures even wear over time.

Additional Highlights

  • Sectional design with twist-lock spring latches

  • Lock-in lid support with positive catch

  • Large, tapered peepholes

  • Fire directly on the brick bottom for full capacity

  • Ventilated, louvered switch box

  • Heavy-duty stainless steel case

  • Certified to CSA and UL Standard 499
