Get to Know Saori M Stoneware

I am a ceramic artist and contemporary artist who was born and raised in Japan. While studying contemporary sculpture at an art university in Tokyo, I was drawn to the world of ceramics and acquired knowledge and skills in pottery. through self-study. My ceramic works have been influenced by my research on contemporary sculpture, including Brancusi, as well as Japanese art movements such as Mono-ha and Mingei movement.

In ceramics, I specialize in creating works using techniques like Nerikomi and Neriage, primarily on the potter's wheel. I strive to break free from existing rules, constantly seeking inspiration from both the new and the old, and continuously challenging myself. My goal is to bring art into everyday homes, coexisting harmoniously with lives.
