Our "In the Studio with Beatrice Wood" candle, draws inspiration from the captivating sculpture "Career Woman" created by Beatrice Wood in 1990.
Wood was a prominent American ceramicist, artist, and writer who lived to the impressive age of 105 years. She was affectionately known as the "Mama of Dada" and was an important member of the avant-garde movement in New York City during the 1910s and 1920s. Her unique style incorporated a blend of humor, eroticism, and spirituality, and she experimented with different techniques such as wood-firing and pit-firing to create her stunning pieces.
Our candle is a tribute to her creative spirit, and the scent is a sophisticated blend of verbena, red currant, and fir needle. The verbena lends a refreshing citrus note, while the red currant adds a subtle sweetness to the fragrance. The fir needle offers a grounding and woodsy aroma, creating a perfect balance of uplifting and calming scents.
